Casual Bar Tender and Game Master (Padlock'd Surfers Paradise Blvd)

Job Role:
Step behind the scenes and into the action at Padlock’d Escape Rooms — the most immersive escape experience in Australia. We’re on the hunt for energetic and reliable Game Masters who can also serve behind the bar.
As a Game Master/Bartender, you’ll not only host and monitor games, but also help run our bar service – offering a unique mix of guest engagement and cocktail flair. You’ll ensure every team has an unforgettable experience from arrival to farewell.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming guests and assisting them through electronic check-in.
Delivering engaging game briefings and safety instructions.
Escorting players to their rooms and monitoring games via camera systems.
Providing hints and support as needed throughout gameplay.
Welcoming guests back after their game, taking team photos, and farewelling players.
Resetting escape rooms efficiently and accurately between groups.
Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Maintaining cleanliness of bar, game spaces and common areas.
Performing minor maintenance and assisting with general venue operations.
Other duties as required by the venue manager.
Essential Skills & Experience:
As the premier escape room operator in the country, we expect excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification – essential.

Game Master and Scare Actor (Other World HQ)

Job Role:
Do you love horror, theatre, and creating unforgettable experiences? Other World HQ is seeking bold, energetic and fearless individuals to join our team as Game Masters / Scare Actors. In this unique hybrid role, you’ll blend immersive storytelling with sharp technical awareness, bringing our darker escape room experiences to life — and sending shivers down guests’ spines (in the best way possible).
You’ll guide players through our games, control the experience from behind the scenes, and—when needed—step into character to haunt, surprise, or delight our guests with a chilling performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting and checking in guests with professionalism and charisma.
- Delivering game briefings and setting the tone for their adventure.
- Monitoring live games and assisting players with clues when required.
- Performing in-character scare sequences or interactive story moments.
- Resetting and maintaining rooms with speed and precision.
- Keeping the venue clean, safe and atmospheric.
- Assisting with minor maintenance and prop troubleshooting.
- Supporting special events, photo ops, and creative projects.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Confident and comfortable performing in character – with or without a mask!

- Previous acting, scare acting, or immersive theatre experience is a bonus (but not required — we’ll train the right candidate!).
Job Requirements:
- Must be available for late-night and weekend shifts.
- Weeknight shifts may run up to 10:45pm and weekends up to midnight.
- Must be flexible with shifts and open to changes at short notice.
- Majority of work will be on Friday–Sunday, with additional weekday work during peak periods and events.
Assistant Venue Manager (Other World HQ)

Job Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic and highly capable Assistant Venue Manager to join our Other World HQ team on a full-time basis. Working closely with the Venue Manager and senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring our high standards are upheld while delivering an unforgettable experience for every guest. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the daily operation and coordination of the venue and staff.
Leading by example during shifts, including greeting players, game briefing, check-in, and facilitating gameplay.
Monitoring live games, assisting with clues, and ensuring players are engaged and safe.
Managing room turnovers, resets, and general upkeep with efficiency.
Supporting the team with minor maintenance and troubleshooting.
Overseeing cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public and staff areas.
Supporting staff training, mentoring, and rostering as needed.
Handling escalations or guest issues professionally.
Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies.
Contributing to continual improvement of the venue and customer experience.
Other duties as required.

Job Role:
Padlock’d Escape Rooms is Australia’s premier escape room experience, and we’re looking for a dynamic and highly capable Assistant Manager to help lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our flagship location. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, customer service, technical problem-solving, and operational oversight — all in a fast-paced and uniquely fun environment.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional day-to-day operations while upholding Padlock’d’s high standards of customer experience and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Help lead and manage the daily operations of the venue, including staff coordination, bookings, and shift supervision.
Assist in recruiting, training, mentoring, and support of Game Masters and Bar Staff.
Ensure all customer experiences meet or exceed our quality standards.
Oversee and assist with guest check-in, briefings, in-game support, and reset coordination.
Monitor and maintain all escape rooms, bar service areas, and shared spaces for functionality, cleanliness, and presentation.
Troubleshoot minor technical and electronic issues related to games and props.
Manage inventory, stock ordering, and supplies for both venue and bar.
Work closely with the company’s upper management and creative team to implement new games, events, or operational changes.
Maintain compliance with health & safety, RSA, and venue licensing standards.
Assist with marketing activities, social media engagement, and community partnerships.
Prepare basic reports on performance, staffing, and customer feedback.

Programmer (All Venues)

Job Role:
Electronics power the special effects, theatrics, and mind-bending puzzles that make our escape rooms truly magical. We’re on the lookout for a skilled and creative Programmer to join our behind-the-scenes tech team.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with our creative team to help design, build, modify, improve, and maintain the interactive electronics that drive our immersive escape room experiences. From early prototyping to final in-game installs, you’ll be at the heart of the magic.
Perfect for a recent graduate or a talented hobbyist ready to take their skills to the next level in a commercial setting!
Essential Skills & Experience:
Computer literate and confident navigating multiple platforms.
Programming skills with Arduino and Raspberry Pi (C+, C++, Python-based).
Familiarity with Node-RED highly regarded.
Solid understanding of electronic components and their real-world application.
Excellent troubleshooting, testing, and diagnostic abilities.
Precise soldering skills
Handy, inventive, and technically capable with a creative edge.
Comfortable using tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of Cat5/6 cabling and structured cabling systems.
Experience with Ethernet and Serial communications
